Extended aeration wastewater treatment
Water is a valuable resource. To ensure its proper conservation, it is mandatory to properly treat wastewater generated by human activity. Our extended aeration wastewater treatment is a factory-assembled, easy-to-install biological oxidation treatment designed to service small communities of up to 250 people-equivalent (PE). Solution applicable for flow rates up to 150 m3/day.
Treatment and clarification in one tank
Minimal visual impact
Noise and odour free
Monoblock solution (50-250 PE)
Domestic and commercial effluents
Sized according to local requirements
Applicable up to 150 m3/day
What is an extended aeration wastewater system?
The compact Rewatec Extended Aeration System treats wastewater in a single tank, with two chambers. The first chamber is the biological reactor and the second chamber acts as the decanter.
The Rewatec Extended Aeration technology removes pollutants through a continuous aeration and clarification process, returning the treated water to the environment in the best conditions and in accordance with local requirements.
This solution is perfect for commercial projects and small communities servicing more than 50 people-equivalent (PE) striving for high performance with minimal energy consumption.
Examples of applications:
- Small communities
- Commercial areas
- Apartment buildings
- Office buildings
- Golf courses
How does Rewatec’s extended aeration technology work?
Rewatec’s extended aeration wastewater treatment solution is a simple, compact and easy to operate system. A single electrical panel controls the operation of the system’s electromechanical equipment and can be adjusted as required.
The system is designed to operate using the activated sludge treatment process. Wastewater seeps directly into the first chamber (reactor), where a system of membrane diffusers fed by side channel blowers injects fine air bubbles. The moving air supplies oxygen into the system to help the growth of bacteria and reduce the organic matter load. Once the effluent passes through the reactor, it enters the clarification chamber of the tank by gravity, where suspended solids sink to the bottom of the clarifier and clear water exits through an overflow at the top.
The bottom of the clarification chamber is equipped with a submerged pump that recirculates the settled sludge into the reactor to keep the level of activated sludge at optimum values at all times, thus maximising efficiency.
For communities above 50 PE it is always recommended to install a screen system prior to the reactor.
The blower and the electrical panel should be installed in a weatherproof enclosure to reduce maintenance and increase service life.
Guaranteed performance :
|COD (mg O2/L)||800||< 125|
|BOD5 (mg O2/L)||400||< 25|
|TSS (mg/L)||500||< 35|
