Aerobic treatment unit — the low-energy solution for difficult sites
Whether you're interested in installing our ATU or have questions about your existing system, we're here to help.
What is an aerobic treatment unit?
An aerobic treatment unit — or ATU — is an advanced septic system designed for properties where a conventional system isn't possible or can't meet treatment requirements.
Our ATU is a single, self-contained unit with three chambers. It does not require a separate septic tank.
Here's how it works:
- Wastewater enters the first chamber, where solids and scum remain.
- Liquid flows into the treatment chamber, where bacteria break down pollutants. An air blower feeds the process in timed cycles.
- Liquid passes through a clarifier, where any remaining solids are recirculated back to the first chamber.
- Treated wastewater is discharged according to your local regulations.
The result is effective, reliable treatment — even on sites where a conventional system isn't possible.
Inexpensive and quiet performance
Like all aerobic treatment units, our ATU requires electricity to run its air pump.
What makes our system unique is that it aerates wastewater in timed bursts rather than running continuously. This simple design feature keeps energy consumption and noise levels low.
At less than 2 kWh per day, running the system costs roughly 35 cents a day — or around $125 a year — based on average electricity prices.
The system's air blower operates at 42 to 45 decibels — about the same as the hum of a refrigerator. Whether you're outside on a summer evening or hosting friends, you won't be reminded that your septic system is doing its job in your yard.
We'll confirm the right system size for your property
Our ATU is available in a range of sizes to suit different properties and household demands.
The right model for your home depends on a combination of factors, including your bedroom count, your site conditions, and your state or county regulations.
You don't need to work it out yourself — that's our job.

What does owning an ATU involve long term?
Our ATU is built to last, but like all systems of this type, it needs regular maintenance and periodic tank emptying.
We offer both services as part of our end-to-end offer.
As the manufacturer, we know the system inside out, we hold all parts directly, and if you ever have a warranty question, you deal with us — not a reseller or a third party.
