What is the Ecoflo linear biofilter?
The Ecoflo linear biofilter combines advanced wastewater treatment and dispersal in the same location. It uses rows of coco treatment pads and an underlying sand layer to remove contaminants and ensure that only treated wastewater reaches your property's soil.
Thanks to its low profile and flexible design, the Ecoflo linear biofilter is the go-to solution for rural homes and cottages with permeable soil and low water tables.
The system is ideal for:
- narrow lots
- sloped properties
- yards with sheds, pools, patios, or gardens
Why choose the Ecoflo linear biofilter?
Traditional septic systems require a separate drain field, which takes up a lot of space and can be difficult to install on narrow lots or sloped terrain.
The Ecoflo linear biofilter solves that problem. By combining advanced treatment and wastewater dispersal in a single, low-profile system, it reduces your installation's overall footprint by up to 50% and leaves no raised mounds in your yard.
The best part? Because the Ecoflo linear biofilter is flexible, it can be installed around sheds, pools, patios, and gardens. There is no need to rearrange your busy yard!
How does the Ecoflo linear biofilter work?
The Ecoflo linear biofilter treats wastewater in three steps:
- Wastewater from your septic tank enters the Ecoflo linear biofilter’s integrated distribution channels. It drips through perforations along each channel onto the coco treatment pads below.
- Advanced treatment begins as wastewater percolates through the coco filtration pads. The pads filter and trap pollutants while naturally occurring microorganisms break down pollutants.
- After passing through the pads, treated wastewater flows through a layer of sand. It then safely disperses into the underlying soil, eventually returning to groundwater.
Get the most out of your system
The Ecoflo linear biofilter can be combined with the Rewatec dosing distribution box. The box receives wastewater from your septic tank, separates it into measured doses, and sends a portion into each of the Ecoflo linear biofilter's channels.
This configuration maximizes the lifespan of your installation by ensuring even wastewater distribution across the entire length of the system.

Ecoflo linear biofilter guides and manuals

“We went with the Ecoflo linear biofilter because it was only half the size of other systems, and we didn’t need to import additional material. We will use it more in the future versus other systems.”
