What is a cesspool?
A cesspool (or cesspit) is the simplest form of environmental protection for wastewater. Cesspools are robust, GRP tanks that store wastewater underground until it can be emptied at a later stage. There is no processing or water treatment involved.
Rewatec cesspools are delivered as one-piece units with no leaky seams that could contaminate your property or the surrounding environment. They are typically supplied with a single manhole access cover for periodic waste disposal.

How does a cesspool work?
Wastewater from bathrooms, kitchen drains, dishwashers, and washing machines runs into a main drainage pipe that flows into the cesspool.
The cesspool has no outlet or partition walls. Its only job is to safely store raw wastewater until it can be removed by a licensed waste disposal company and transported to a sewage treatment plant.
Inside the cesspool, a high-level float can be connected to an alarm that activates when the reservoir is almost full. This warning system prevents over-filling that, if left unchecked, could result in a sewage backup.
